Malaysia’s National Fatwa Council has notified that the injections for cosmetic purposes contain some of the substances that are banned. It said Muslims in Malaysia not to take those injections. However, the council enjoys no legal power but Muslims generally go by the directives of the council.
According to council chairperson Shukor Husin, The decision has taken after studying reports, consulting with local specialists and fatwas made in Middle Eastern countries.
This decision refers to situations where there are no alternatives for medical treatment.
