Male circumcision may protect from HIV

According to a new research, male who are circumcised are at less risk to contract HIV than uncircumcised male. The detail of the study was presented at the International AIDS Conference at Toronto.

According to the study, circumcised heterosexual men are at least 60 per cent less danger to contract HIV than uncircumcised men. The online edition of health magazine WebMD has also published the detail of the study.

Managing Director of the World Health Organization’s HIV/AIDS program, Kevin De Cock, has said that after some necessary study of the research, WHO will issue some new guidelines related to procedures for HIV prevention. The global agencies are waiting the results of two more large studies on the same matter.
