Juice Diet

Juice Diet

The juice diet, also known as the juice fasting, makes you juice everything raw from fruits to vegetables. But this diet is more complex than simply an eight days juice marathon. The full period of the 21 days cycle is considered to be effective for your skin and internal organs. Many do it to lose weight, while others do it to purify their bodies. For those that want to lose extra weight in a healthy way we recommend mixing a lot of fruits and vegetable in a crazy healthy cocktail and drink several glasses during the day.

What is the juice diet all about ?

The simple mechanism of this diet is that you reduce the number of
ingested calories while supporting the healthy state of your body with
vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants from the raw foods you are juicing.

At first you’ll only drink juice for a period of eight days and after that you’ll start introducing solid foods to your diet for a period of three days. The rest of the fasting period you have to eat a quarter of raw food for better results.

Precaution !
People that suffer from diabetes or those that are on medication can’t follow this diet. Nursing mothers, pregnant women and children are also banned from this eating plan.

What to juice ?

You can juice anything raw. There are many combinations that you might like, but it’s more creative and fun to discover them yourself. Bananas and mango, green apples and carrots – these are just some of the tasty juices you can prepare.

But make sure you use a juicer and not a blender. You want to make juice and not puree meals.

How much juice is safe to drink ?

On the long run the juice diet will provide more energy than ever, but after only a few days you might experience severe fatigue. In order to avoid these symptoms make sure that you:
– Drink plenty of water
– Sleep well
– Keep the number of calories up
– Don’t go overboard with physical exercises

You must be aware that a glass of juice cannot replace a meal. If you do this you’ll be on a low calories diet and you won’t feel at all energetic. Those that go on a juice diet should drink 9-12 glasses of juice each day, not counting water.

Reasons for going on a juice diet

Some believe that a juice diet or a fasting diet can help purify the body of toxins while eliminating extra fat. The list of reasons is long, including religious reasons, overeating disorders, smoking habit, weigh loss, flushing the toxins from the body, coffee addiction and more.

It is also a common belief that this type of diet can help prevent and cure chronic pain, cancer, depression, autoimmune diseases and other. But studies have not confirmed the therapeutic benefits of fasting.

Possible side effects

Most diets that promote fasting can induce a downfall of the vitamins and minerals in your body. The juice diet is able to maintain these at a normal rate. It is advisable not to follow this diet while taking medication because of the interaction risks.

Depending on the time and duration, the prolonged detox diets usually lead to muscle tonus loss and decreased metabolism. If you decide to go on a juice diet remember that detox is recommended only twice a year and not abuse this precaution.
