<br WHO officer told that — 69 kids in northern region of Nigeria developed polio after an immunization program held against this problematic disease.
WHO agent — Peter Eriki mentioned that — those kids who were not immunized properly were at higher risk of getting exposed to the polio virus. But this thing is very rare to occur, may be in some cases.
WHO (World Health Organization) gave a statement in which they denied that there is no possibility that virus might have got there due to the contamination of the polio vaccine. In exceptional cases, this polio virus that exists in the vaccine can alter into a shape that can cause paralysis.
Peter Eriki mentioned that this is an indication that we must work to immunize more persons against this disease, it is signifying that nearly 10% of the Nigerian citizens has tried to avoid the inoculation program.
Kids who are vaccinated against polio are fully safe and nothing to worry about them. The most important job is to see whether all the kids are immunized against this disease or not.
The immunization programs started by the United Nations & the government of Nigeria came up beside the oppositions from Muslim heads in the northern region of the Nigeria in the year 2003. Few people tried to oppose this polio immunization as they thought it to be a section of a plan started by the United States of America to sterilise the Muslim community residing over there.
