India to use religion to give fillip to its family planning program!

This time Madhya Pradesh in India is about to follow the footsteps of Pakistani government to energize its family planning program. Spilling out some clues of this family planning program, state Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said, ‘The program was inspired in part by a book by Muzaffar Hussain, called “Census Islam and Family Planning.

Briefly, it would be right to say that under this reconstructed model of family planning Madhya Pradesh government is going to seek help of religion in order to propagate the significance of family planning.

This is a wonderful method, which I believe can come up with exciting results, especially in developing countries like India where people pay veneration to religion. Interestingly, India is one of those countries where a great number of people are still illiterate and using religion to convey the message of family planning to these illiterate people is surely going to hit the nail on the head. Moreover, I think in the fast changing world it has become quite necessary to give new dimensions to age old religion for the betterment of mankind. Only then the true aim of religion, which is to make people’s life happier and prosperous, can be achieved.

Actually, this is not the first time when religion is going to be used for meeting worldly purposes because we find many examples in history, when social reformers had to use religion as a tool to prevent humankind from heading to his doom.
