How to stop sweating

Sweating is a natural phenomenon – an act that the body indulges in to regulate its temperature. All humans sweat, but some just sweat a tad bit more than others. If you think you are amongst those who sweat more than average, below are underlined a few steps to help you deal with it.

Difficulty level: Easy

Resources required: Antibacterial soap, talcum powder, antiperspirant (if you don’t mind using it), rose water or tea tree oil and baking soda.

Instructions:

Drink water. There is no better remedy to dilute the odour of sweat than hydrating yourself with as much water as possible. Water when taken in excess helps dilute the concentration of sweat, thereby also diluting the resulting odour.

Another simple and common remedy that is usually practiced is putting a few drops of tea tree oil or rose water into the bath tub before taking a bath. This is a natural substitute for a deodorant and imparts freshness for a long time even after taking the bath.

Shower as much as possible throughout the day. Showering at least three times a day in the summers can help those who sweat a lot in good measure.

If all fails, use a powerful antiperspirant. Considering the wide array of antiperspirants and deodorants available in the market, this can work out to be a good remedy when natural methods fail.

Avoid tension and stay as much relaxed as possible. It has been scientifically proven that sweating in many cases is also a result of over-anxiety and stress. Considering that today, stress has become an integral part of life, it is important to find time, at least of about 5 minutes or so to relax and regroup.

Exercise regularly as this can help the body control sweating. Regular exercise helps the body accustom itself to physical and strenuous activity which in turn decreases sweating.

Watch your diet. Foods, especially the spicy ones are known to increase body temperature, which thereby cause the body to sweat so as to help cool itself. Monitoring their intake can therefore help regulate sweating to a good extent.

Body odor is known to linger onto the clothes even after they have been taken off. Hence avoid repeating your clothes. Use them only after you have washed them, preferably everyday.

Frequently asked questions:
Is there any natural way to control excessive underarm sweating?
Yes, there is. Apply baking soda to your armpits. It is absolutely safe.

Quick tips:
To combat excessive sweating, bathe as much as you can. Not just does it help you stay fresh but it also keeps the skin bacteria in check.

Use talcum powder over your body, especially after you bathe. This helps decrease sweating.

And last but not the least. Drink lots of water. It will help you smell better.

Things to watch out for:
As much as possible, stay away from garlic and onions. The smell of these vegetables usually travels through the skin pores thereby worsening the existing body odour.

Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation and yoga. These help control sweating if your sweating is the result of stress and anxiety.
