The statistics that denote that HIV/AIDS rate has come down 6.1 to 5.9 percent in Kenya has really shown a ray of hope for the government and activists who were trying hard to harness the rapid growth of this deadly virus. However, health experts believe that Kenya should not get satisfied with this fall and continue their efforts by by educating people about the important of safe sex.

In urban areas of Kenya the prevalence of HIV virus is 9.6 percent. While in rural areas this percent is just 4.6 percent.

In the words of acting director, Prof. Alloys Orago:

Girls, women and children are the most vulnerable groups to HIV/Aids infection.

It means Kenya has a long distance to cover to fully expunge this deadly disease from her soil.
