Common causes that lead to male infertility

Couples are considered to be infertile if they have tried for one year or even more to become pregnant and did not succeed. It has affected nearly 15% of the total population. There are various causes of infertility in males like trauma or injuries, hormonal imbalance, illness or medications.

The top causes of male infertility are:

1. Varicocele is considered to be a common factor that puts affect on nearly 40% of infertile males. In this condition veins in the scrotum enlarges. And if these veins become enlarged than it leads to increase in temperature. Due to increase in the temperature of the scrotum, it affects the production of sperm and the sperm quality.

2. An obstruction in the male reproductive system is also one of the causes of infertility.

3. If the sperm count of a man is low than it could lead to infertility.

4. The abnormal shape of sperm, or if the movement of sperm is abnormal — than it could also lead to male infertility.

5. Undescended Testes could be one of the causes. In few cases there is a failure of the testes to descend from the abdomen into the scrotum during the period of fetal life.

6. There are various medications that put effect on male fertility.

7. If there is some other medical problem than it could also cause infertility.
