Sexually transmitted disease, syphilis that china had successfully shaken off in the early years of 60s and 80s has unfortunately once again started hovering over Chinese people. This revelation is really heartbreaking as we know that it normally turns a person more susceptible to HIV infection.
Distortion in the social trends has chiefly been blamed for this much of rise in syphilis cases. Moreover, rapid industrialization has given way to the emergence of labor class that usually lives miles away from their families, which usually encourage these people to pick the route that leads to the bawdyhouses, making their selves more vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis. Secondly, tendency of the people to be experimental with sex has also been held responsible for this much of rise in syphilis cases.
This is such a problem that should be managed advisedly and for this, I personally believe that if this labor class is provided with awareness about STDs then half of the work would be accomplished. Secondly, prostitutes should also be made aware about the importance of safe sex. Thirdly, and most importantly health care system of china should be overhauled in such a way so that it may tackle with this groaning situation more efficiently.
