Last year in October, French authorities had made it, clear that very soon, they would be imposing ban on smoking and finally that moment has arrived as a new smoking ban comes into force, which has ascertained the fact that French public buildings will now completely be cigarette-free.
All closed public places such as schools, hospitals and workplaces come in the periphery of this ban. This ban extends to commercial enterprises such as cafes, clubs and restaurants. However, such places have been given a period of 12 months to impose this ban fully.
Interestingly, this ban has come into force amid high opposition from a section of people who were against this ban because these people see smoking as an integral part of the French lifestyle.
However, French government has fulfilled its promise to go on with ban on smoking but only time will tell that how far this ban would come out successfully.
