need to know about pregnancy changes

Giving birth is by any means the best thing a woman wishes for. But the changes you may go through will be totally different from your day to day life that you have lived so far. During this phase, your body undergoes many changes that you had never experienced before. You may know these things already but there are many other things that you will surely want to know. Let us go through some common body changes which apparently, you may come across.

Your genital area will never look the same again

Your body may be well toned and you might even admire your private anatomy but the truth is that after delivering the baby, your vagina will lose its past looks forever and will never look the same again. It is not obligatory that it will look bad but it will be different especially if your skin was torn during delivery or if you underwent an episiotomy. The vaginal muscles get loosened and the space inside will be a little larger with vaginal lips stretched open especially right after birth. With time and some special exercises like Kegel, you may regain the original shape but to some extent only.

Smelling different

The most dramatic chemical changes in the body happen during pregnancy even you will smell different because chemical changes inside you release new , warm and alluring fragrance from your body. The body secretes different scent and women start smelling different as compared to their past odour.

Vaginal canal at cervix gets plugged

Inside a pregnant women’s vagina, near the cervical opening, a mucus plug like that of a snot-like glob is developed near the cervix that seals the cervical opening that protects your baby from the external infection causing agents such as bacteria. It comes out before labor. Many women do not know that there is a mucous membrane inside them and could at some stage “come out” or “fall out” as their body starts to prepare for the birth. The reason for this is the dilating of the cervix but it is not necessary that you will experience the same. Some women lose this plug while delivering and do not know what happened.

Weight gain and then loosing weight

Some women are very much health conscious but pregnancy makes it a tendency to start fat accumulation on bottom, tummy and the underside of arms. It may not be that bad, in fact it adds to the womanly beauty. It is normal to gain fat dimples. These fat dimples start creeping into the back of legs, front side of the legs, calves everywhere possible. The good news is that after about seven or eight months of delivery, the fat creep starts to recede away. Its receding is helped by following a diet of reasonable content and exercising moderately.

Pregnancy can cause snoring

One of the most distressed changes due to pregnancy is developing the habit of snoring. Some women start snoring due to the hormones that cause membranes in the nose to get soften and swell. it happens to many women but some do not experience snoring at all. Your partner might get upset by your sudden development of snoring act. But it is not up to a woman to stop snoring, it comes as a side effect of pregnancy

Breasts become bigger

If you had small breasts and went through pregnancy, then check out your size again because you will need to buy a bra of bigger size. Most of the women have no idea about the actual size of their breasts until they are filled with milk. The ducts filled with milk get swelled. Hence, increasing the breast area. The milk filled breasts can stand on their own but don’t make that mistake for it will cause saggy breasts after the milk is gone. Some women with milk filled breasts get an increased size from B-cup to a triple D. But by wearing a sturdy nursing bra during day and a relaxed nursing bra for night, one can live a happy life with well shaped breasts.

Tummy hangs loose after the delivery

The soft mound of belly in the front part of your body irritates you and you don’t know what to do. Your tummy acts like a balloon that had been inflated and now needs time to get deflated. Post-birth hormones help your cause of looking slimmer but it takes some time before you look normal again.

Labor pain hurts but sleeplessness hurts more

Pregnancy is a bane but the pain while delivering is of high intensity. Yes, it hurts but the sleep deprivation after that is something that adds salt to the injury. Sleeplessness deteriorates the health conditions of the mother which may cause trouble. However, this sleeplessness wears away after some time by itself, letting you live a happy life with sound sleeps.

Feeling hot

It is very much possible that you feel hot while pregnant because pregnancy hormones speed up your metabolism rate making you feel sweaty and flushed. The remedy is to drink a lot of water, wear loose and light clothes.

Veins of the legs start to pop out

One of the affects of pregnancy produces veins popping all over the place. It was obvious because the blood circulation rate increases when you are pregnant. This causes more strain on the veins leading to the legs. With this process, the body starts to produce more progesterone which relaxes the blood vessels and the chance of getting varicose amplifies with pregnancy. It is advised not to stand for long period of time and one must exercise regularly to remain in recommended weight range. Wearing support hose as much as possible during pregnancy also helps to a great extent.
