Oogst, a design agency known for its focus on 3D design and visual communication, is out with its third concept named Oogst 1000 Wonderland. Designed by Dutch designers Tjep, the concept is a self-sufficient farm, restaurant, hotel and amusement park designed to sustain 1,000 people a day. The design incorporates original Dutch farm buildings with a touch of technology in order to create a self-sustainable system.
All groceries used in the restaurants come from adjacent fields and food grown and raised on site. The hotel guests are privileged with a free stay, all they have to do is work on the farm. A biogas energy system is also implanted to use the waste in more meaningful manner. It offers the world’s first toilet where guests are paid for each visit, as the waste is used for generation of energy. Everything in the Oogst 1000 Wonderland is linked by high-end agricultural technologies like a heat management system, bioreactor and CO2 recycling.
The farm, which is a true amalgamation of extreme fun and extreme usefulness, will be will be presented as part of an exhibition at Design Huis in Eindhoven next week in an exhibition called Boer zoekt stijl, curated by Li Edelkoort.
Apart from the Oogst 1000 Wonderland, Oogst has two other self-sufficient projects to its name. The first was Oogst 1 Solo, a farm for one person, while the second one, the Oogst 100 Community was a farm supporting 100 people.
