The system of electrical switches has remained unchanged for decades. But, the Next Generation concept of light switches by Aljosa Senk rejects such obsolete and dogmatic approaches in the design and manufacture of products. The light switch does not require an autonomous power supply (battery or any other power source), since it uses Quartz or Piezo oscillation in order to operate. This enables us to turn on one or more receivers simultaneously by using different transmitters. Each of them has its own digital address, via which the receivers, e.g. the light switches, are addressed and the receivers are located in front of the electrical consumer itself .

The entire electrical installation system is based on this concept. The switches are composed of four layers. The first layer is made of soft foam, which soon hardens when in contact with air. This enables a tight fit to any uneven surface. The second layer contains a flexible printed circuit (communications, switching components), the third layer is the design holder and the fourth represents a protective relief layer, which enables different surfaces, materials that are different to the touch. Thus, it provides us with almost infinite possibilities of producing various styles and designs.
