You may have seen flying cars in movies and dreamt about riding one in the near future. Designers and scientists across the world are working on the possibility of flying vehicles or citycopters and coming up with different designs and prototypes to turn them into reality. Here we have listed some of the most amazing and attractive citycopters designs that can well be a reality in the future.

Citycopter

The credit of this compact flying vehicle goes to William Hanna and Joe Barbara. Looking similar to the flying vehicle featured in “The Jetsons,” the citycopter is an amazing machine for short distance commutation. This flying vehicle can fit in your small suitcase and automatically convert into a flying machine, just by pressing a button. Citycopter is in a conceptual stage thus far, but it can well be a reality in the future.

Flying machine by Eduardo Galvani

This amazing flying machine utilizes solar energy, which makes it more economical than helicopters. The small flying machine comes with features like autopilot and obstacle detection that enable the rider to have a safer and smoother ride during bad weather conditions. Users can connect this vehicle with the computer and mobile devices as well.

Heikki Juvonen has recently signed a contract to work with PSA design center in Paris. They will develop a citycopter, named E-3POD, in collaboration for future commutation. Inspired by a three-wheeler scooter, the citycopter will feature a main wheel to tilt like a motorcycle and allow stability while moving. Designed to run on electricity, the E-3POD is sure to make your ride comfortable and memorable.

ESTOL Concept

ESTOL is an advanced and functional concept that requires an extremely short take off. Based on the principle of coupling the Custer Channel Wing and Lippisch Aerodyne, the flying machine can take off at the speed of about 30mph and with a ground distance less than 150ft. developed in collaboration with NASA, under Mark Moore, the project is sure to revolution the commutation in the days to come.

Gladiator’s bike

Gladiator’s bike gives the glimpse of vehicles that we would probably see in 22nd century. Designed by Jaewan Jeong, the gladiator’s bike would use either solar power or electricity to fly and enable the rider to cover the distance quickly and safely.

Various designers and scientists worldwide are working on flying machines or citycopters to make commutation quicker and safer in the future. These flying machines are designed to run on electricity or solar power to help sustain the environment.
