When it comes to diet, wine drinkers give more priority to healthier food than beer drinkers. This somewhat strange finding came to the surface through a Danish study. Further, the same study further states that where wine drinkers prefer healthier food consisting of olives, fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish and dairy products, while beer drinkers give priority to food that contain comparatively less nutrients. Among such foods, frozen dinners, cold cuts, pork, mutton, crisps, sugary products, butter, margarine and soft drinks are more prominent.

Remarking on healthy food intake of wine drinkers researchers remarked:

Our results confirm international studies, which show that wine drinkers are more inclined to eat fruits, vegetables and fish and rarely use saturated fats, compared to those who like other kinds of alcoholic beverages.

Interestingly, the same study further reveals that wine drinkers possess higher education level, higher earning level and comparatively better psychological health than beer drinkers. Personally, I believe that it is better education and higher earning level of wine drinkers that prompt them to have much healthier diet than beer drinkers.
