Taxotere: NHS denies funding prostate cancer drug

NHS has been taking a number of decisions as per its whims and fancies, this time it has negated itself to use the drug Taxotere, which was the only proven drug for the people suffering from prostate cancer in Scotland. The Scottish Medicines Consortium has feels that the drug has been rejected because of its cost effectiveness and its failure to prove as a competent drug for curing prostate cancer.
NHS has earlier delayed in making cancer drugs accessible to people and now the only hope of a cancer patient’s survival is denied to him. It will be difficult for the patients to pay £10,000, for the drug. Is NHS down with a funding problem?
