Red wine for a good night's sleep

A research has shown that drinking red wine helps people to have sound sleep. The red wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chianti wines contain the different levels of melatonin. This hormone enlightens people about the time to bed and checks body clock.

Melatonin also produces in our brains by the pineal gland. The grape skins produce it too. The researchers have quantified the amount of melatonin in the skins of eight varieties of Italian vineyard grape.

Another research has concluded that drinking red wine may lead to a longer life. It reduces the risk of heart disease, lung cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and gum disease as well.
