Hospitals promoting junk food

It comes as a shock to know that the guardians of health are serving unhealthy foods in their quarters.Researchers say that hospitals in Canada serve grease laden food larded with sugar and fats. The school vending machines and the hospitals stand on the same platform. Brian McCrindle, head of the pediatric lipid disorders clinic at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children surveyed 12 Canadian and 104 American hospitals and found that most cafeterias at the medical facilities promote unhealthy snacks right at the checkout counter.A survey showed that the food outlets in the hospital, including McDonalds and Burger King, spend 83 percent on research and keep 77 percent to themselves.
The hospital authorities must be minting good money out of it. Needless to say their policies might be lodging patients and diseases for a longer time.
