Fixing-the-diet-to-get-it-back-on-track

Endometriosis is a condition when the tissues of the uterine lining grow towards the outside of the uterus. In this way, the lining starts to cover a woman’s bowel, pelvis, and ovaries. The condition can lead to infertility or other fertility issues for women while causing immense pain, vomiting, heavy menstrual bleeding, and nausea. Endometriosis Diet has been designed by the dieticians to ensure that women can overcome this illness.

Endometriosis Diet Explained

Fiber Bloating and gas with constipation can induce the pain which comes with endometriosis. A fiber-based diet will help in improved digestion while improving bowel movement. Increased fiber intake will reduce estrogen and minimize symptoms. Veggies, whole grains, fruits, and beans can opt for this.

Omega 3 Consuming omega 3 fatty acids can be helpful for endometriosis patients. It helps in relaxing the muscles which lead to a reduction in pain caused by the particular condition. Nutritional supplements, pumpkin seeds, sardines, tuna, salmon, and walnuts are good sources of omega 3 fatty acids.

Dairy It can prove beneficial in stimulating the production of the prostaglandin types PGF2a and PGF2. They are known to exacerbate the symptoms of endometriosis. Eliminating dairy is good if you can fulfill your calcium requirement from other food sources such as supplements. Else than supplements, you may go for almonds, sesame seeds, dark green veggies, fortified juices, and tofu.

Meats  Just like dairy, meat seems to aggravate symptoms of endometriosis by stimulating PFG2a. In order to meet the necessary requirement of protein intake, you must go for other protein-rich sources such as nuts, seeds, tofu, and beans.

Food Sensitivities – Women with sensitivities to foods like sugar, gluten, and wheat may find lessening in pain by eliminating these foods. Patients are recommended to eliminate one food item at a time. You may need to consume vitamin supplements to keep up the vitamin levels in your body.
