Dr. David Reath, a committee member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons disagrees, saying that implants may not always have psychological or sexual benefits. He believe that female breast are a crucial part of a woman and effects how she feels about the way her clothes fit, her sexuality and how herself in public. He also states that it is common for women to say that they feel more confident after the surgery.

Tomi-Ann Roberts, a psychology professor at the Colorado College says that their increased sex drives can be attributed to other reasons. She states that women spend a lot of money, time and effort on the surgery; we find reasons to justify that our efforts. She says that these women may feel good about themselves as because of the effort that they invested has paid off.

The study was conducted on forty five women; they were to fill out a survey asking them about their sex lives before they had surgeries and were to fill out another form after four to eighteen months. Most women report that there was a significant increase in their arousal levels and sexual satisfaction. Only nine women who had developed stretch marks did not notice any improvement. The findings will be presented before the ASPS conference in San Diego and will be treated as preliminary till tghye are published in their official journal.

Reath was not surprised by the findings; he says that a lot of his patients enjoy sex a lot more after getting surgery done. Roberts also says that these forty five women were getting implants as the media made them feel inadequate and that they would obviously feel pleased with new breasts.

Robert had also noted that they will also feel a boost in their sexuality as they had invested their money into getting implants to serve that purpose of pleasing their husbands or boyfriends, which in turn made them feel an increased sexual attractiveness. Roberts also believes that the study could have included more practical questions related to how well they can breastfeed of whether they were comfortable or not while jogging.
