The US Environmental Protection Agency has already declared cadmium, a heavy metal, as a possible cancer causing substance. Now it has been linked with breast cancer too.
Dr. Jane A. McElroy and his team at the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center has concluded in a study that women with more cadmium levels in urines were at 2.29-times more risk to develop breast cancer than those with lower levels.
The Journal of the National Cancer Institute has published the report. However, the danger level of cadmium that causes breast cancer is unclear. But it imitates the effects of estrogen.
