Brain can regenerate cells damaged by alcohol consumption!

Brain cells that are damaged by drinking are repaired by the brain itself, a new study by a team of international researchers has put this fact under the light. However, this study also exhibits that if a person continue his drinking habit for a longer time then brain’s capacity to regenerate brain cells may slacken.

To get these results Bartsch and scientists from Germany, Britain, Switzerland and Italy tried to find out more precisely about brain’s regenerative ability by measuring the volume of the brains of 15 alcoholic men and women and concluded that after leaving drinking for about 38 days brain volume of these alcoholic men and women increased by an average of nearly 2 percent. Only the patients who had been drinking alcohol for a much longer time didn’t showed such positive results.

These findings strongly clear the fact that brain can go on regenerating damaged brain cells only if a person does not cross the limits, on the other end, excessive drinking may hinder regenerating process of the brain. Therefore, some restraint is requisite to keep brain doing its work properly.
