Atkins Diet

Weight loss is a common issue among people. Fitness trends among young people and health concerns among middle-aged people are no rarity these days. For many years, weight loss diets were all about low-calorie intake. These diets are only good for those people who don’t eat meat frequently. Atkins Diet Foods have been the center of attention for people with all kinds of health concerns. The diet has proven effective without delivering any side effects.

Atkins Diet has arrived with a slightly different philosophy where the body of the dieter goes through 4 phases in order to reach the desired goals. The diet is simple to understand and follow.

Atkins Diet Foods at 4 Phases

Phase 1 – The phase is also called as Induction. It carries on for 2 weeks where you can lose up to 15lbs. Dieters are restricted to consume 20g carbs per day only. Meals should contain proteins such as beef, seafood, fish, and poultry along with veggies and healthy fats. Salsa, teriyaki, and ketchup sauce are not allowed to consume. You are also not allowed to consume fruits and fruit juices.

Bread, nuts, eggs, cheese, pastry, and salad greens are allowed to eat in the first phase of Atkins Diet Foods. Spices, herbs, and condiments such as mayonnaise, oils, butter, and mustard are good to consume. Alcohol is banned for the dieters. You must have noticed that the phase is based on increasing fat intake. That’s right, fat intake should be increased in order to support the body’s Ketosis state where fat is only used to produce energy.

Phase 2 Here the weight loss continues. It is the longest phase where you are required to consume nutrient-rich carbs. More vegetables, few fruits, juices, berries, and nuts can be introduced in the diet in a restricted amount. The major point of focus is fat and protein. Introduce the carbs into your diet one by one slowly.

Phase 3
It is also known as Pre-Maintenance Phase. Dieters are guided to bring more carbs into their Atkins Diet. For this purpose, you may opt for starchy foods like grains, more fruits, legumes, and root crops. You are recommended to increase the intake of carbs up to 50g to 70g per day until the desired weight is attained.

Phase 4
Also known as Maintenance Phase, it is where you have achieved your desired weight. You must be wondering what the reason is for this phase to exist if you have achieved the desired weight. The reason is that you need to maintain the ideal weight and not go back from where you started. Here you need to maintain a disciplined character by controlling your cravings and staying within the guidelines of healthy eating.

By now, you must have realized what is healthy eating. Keep consuming plenty of carbs, proteins, and healthy fats while avoiding unhealthy fats and empty calories such as sweets and candies. Follow the Atkins Diet strictly if you wish to see weight loss results within 2 months.
