A rare disease haunt meat processing company at Bridge

A flu-like atypical illness, Q-fever has found in the meat factory workers at the Scotbeef meat processing company in Bridge of Allan.

According to NHS Forth Valley, blood tests of some eleven workers has given positive result and confirmed about the fever.

Q-fever causes by the Coxiella burnetii organism that finds in farm animals and wild animals as well. By drinking unpasteurised milk human may contacted with this disease.

According to NHS Forth Valley, it rarely passes from person to person, but it may spread to half a mile through the air.
