Uninvolved parenting and its impact on children

Uninvolved-parenting

Uninvolved parenting as the name suggests implies that parents are emotionally uninvolved and cut off in their little one’s life. Often these parents fulfil only the basic requirements, shelter and food. Opportunity for simple pleasures in life, recreation and sports are often non-existent. The uninvolved upbringing technique chosen by neglectful and careless parents leads to the failure of properly upbringing a nice person.

Neglected parenting becoming prevalent in the modern era

Uninvolved parenting is becoming more prevalent in the modern era owing to the changing world, which includes impact of technology, overworked parents and over-scheduled work. Such parents have no or little attachment with their child. They are generally detached from their kid as they are self-involved with numerous other interests, which are more vital to them.

In few circumstances, parents are so wrapped up with their personal issues that they fail to recognize how uninvolved they have become with their children and have become incompetent to provide the emotional attachment their children need. Children of uninvolved parents are likely to develop behavioural problems resulting from the poor parent-child relationship. Owing to this, the child gets emotionally detached. Due to absence of positive guidance (lack of parental beliefs, expectations and values), the child may join hands with wrong kind of friends or may also find themselves in a bad, destructive path.
