InterHome, a new home that is capable of learning and adapting to its residents and take critical actions. In case the doors are left unlocked or burglers intrude, you will be immediately sent a text message informing you about it. Developed by the University of Hertfordshire, this home will be unveiled at the finals of the Microsoft Imagine Cup in Cairo, Egypt, from July 3-7.

The prototype of the home has been developed in a doll’s house, but is ready to be presented to the industry, the university said. The eco-friendly system will also help homeowners reduce energy, bringing savings of up to £300 a year, and cutting CO2 emissions. The InterHome is expected to bring a revolution by eradicating wasted energy within UK homes and drastically changing the CO2 emission statistics when installed in enough houses.

This makes it possible for the InterHome to learn and adapt to its users lifestyle is its modular custom design units and standard home automation systems. Those of you who wish to monitor and control the house using web browsers, Windows Mobile or any SMS-capable cellphone can very conveniently do it using an intuitive touchscreen user control panel integrated into your home.
