Music is the perfect medicine to relieve stress. How about bringing music and environmentalism under one roof? So, DW is here merging the two together with its all new eco-friendly drum kit called the “ECO-X.” The kit is made from an equal quantity of bamboo and birch supplied from sustainable sources. The bamboo is brought from China while the birch comes from Michigan.
The Eco-X Project drums are created by DW’s X Shell technique, which cross-laminates the piles at 90 degrees to each other with the grain at 45 degrees upright, designing the X-shaped layer.
The Eco-X Project kit incorporates eight-ply for the toms and ten-ply for the snare and bass drum. Each layer of the ply is approximately 0.7mm, which results in the toms measuring nearly 5.6mm thick, while the snare and bass drum are 7mm in thickness.
