China: Richer nations need to invest towards the poorer to curb emissions

curb emissions

The Chinese seem to be deeply concerned about the environment. China probably is a pretty big source of greenhouse gas emissions. The Chinese vehicles, farms and even the weather traps more atmospheric heat contributing to radical climate change. The good news is that they are trying to do something about it. China wants richer nations to contribute technology and funds to the poor economies so that greenhouse emissions can be reduced.

With the Kyoto Protocol ending in the year 2012 , nations are trying to figure out how they are going to tackle the greenhouse gas crisis. China asked richer economies for help. Poor finances is probably one of the primary factors contributing towards the greenhouse gas emissions. If you don’t have funds you won’t be able to create a system to solve the problem.

So, China wants to make sure that it joins hands with the richer nations like the US in the global crusade toward greenhouse gas reduction. But, the Asian nation thinks that US is probably one of the obstacles in this path. The US doesn’t care to comply with the Kyoto protocol and don’t even care to ratify the protocol.

Chinese govt. thinks that it is unfair to ask them adhere to the emission limits. Being a third world country, it doesn’t have the funds to keep up with the emission limits. At the same time China thinks that developed nations like the US should cut down their emissions first before asking China to do so. Apparently, most of the emissions are from the countries like the US.

According to a recent UN data, Americans contributed about 20.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere back in 2004. The Chinese only added about 3.8 metric tonnes. This sort of justifies the Chinese claims. Nevertheless, I think all nations need to comply with the gas emissions.
