Arctic's floating-ice area shrunk

Thanks to the spying satellites exposing the earth’s intimidating global warming phenomenon – it is since one if it’s tracking of the floating ice in the Arctic for last 28 years, this summer, the area has been found to shrink to its record point!

Kicking up worries among the experts, the Arctic’s floating ice area seems to be disappearing at an alarming rate, with it shrinking to its record high compared to any other bygone summers have witnessed.

What may have led to this phenomenon are –

A mix of natural fluctuations like unusual sunny conditions during the months of June and July.
Long-term warming caused by the heat-trapping greenhouse gases and air-accumulated sooty particles.

To add to the prevailing melting rate, the exposed black ocean is also soaking up sunlight. An expert predicts that it is by September, the Arctic will have more open water than what has been seen for decades.

Explaining the cause of the alarming phenomenon, that the Arctic ice-fed seas may receive, experts say that a high-pressure system is parked over the Arctic. This is keeping away clouds, leading the winds to carry warm air north. This, in turn, is pushing sea ice away from Siberia, turning the floating-ice area into open water zone.

So, get ready to know of an ice-free Siberia with stretches of open water areas in the Arctic region, forgetting the know-how of the nature’s happenings — After all, its ‘human’ who is the sole culprit behind the disappearing ice, and its gruesome future-effects.
