The NY fashion week which was branded the Mercedes Benz fashion week in the year 2009 is one of the most celebrated fashion weeks held around the globe. New York fashion week is a semi annual event and is held in the months of February and September every year in New York. NY fashion week: a closer look

New York fashion week is surely held in New York but it takes you on a journey to faraway lands through the different designer clothes presented at the event. Each and every designer that displays his or her collection at the fashion has something new to offer. The NY fashion week held this year portrayed so many different styles and trends such as Vera Wang who happens to be a famous designer displayed her collection which was based on the very colorful ‘India’. The clothes put forth by this designer were delicate and quite lovely and her designs with Nehru collar or the choli jacket presented India in a whole new light sans the flowery trappings and the tourist catches.

Old movies seems to be the inspiration behind the collection displayed by James Mischka and Mark Badgley as for their upcoming collection the duet designers have chosen a film version of none other than Shakespeare which is called “A midsummer night’s dream” from the year 1935. A lot of chiffon and tulle were noticed in their collection and their spring look was sure depicting a lot of depth. Both of these excellent designers are renowned for their evening-wear and they showed their magic this time as well with some brilliant gowns.

The very famous Victoria Beckham’s Victoria line was screaming California this time as it featured some sporty attires in sun bleached colors and there were some friendly prints as well. It seems that spring was on the mind of Stacey Bendet who happens to be the owner of Alice and Olivia as her designs had happy and colorful colors sans the doom and gloom. The NY fashion week sure extends surprises to its audience but it has to be said that they are indeed the pleasant ones!
