2nd major Climate Draft defines a dreadful ‘Highway to Extinction’

Highway-to-Extinction

The effects of global warming — a key element of climate change is also the same for the second major report on the crucial topic has been released on Friday in Belgium. It charts out maps on the global warning’s effects. But, unfortunately and disappointingly, most of them are bad with every degree of the rise in temperature.

The one bright spot in the report is a minimal heat rise, which means that there more food production can be predicted in the world’s northern regions.

Among the fearful estimations is the number of species’ going extinct with the rise in the global temperature. Same is the case with the number of people who may starve, or face water shortages, or floods, as the draft report projects as obtained by The Associated Press.

This is how some scientists are defining the degree-by-degree projection — a ‘highway to extinction.’ But, it seems things can’t be seen in the ‘black-n-white’ way.

Along with a multitude of other issues included in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’ 20-chapter draft report, it can kick up sharp closed-door debate, according to some scientists.

Though, at this week’s meeting in Brussels, the draft’s wording is almost guaranteed to change, many scientists are disappointed as they are sure that the focus will remain the same.
