10 Things to do indoor with your kids

Sometimes your child drives you crazy indoors and you struggle to find activities to keep them busy. In order to enjoy the time together, all you need to do is to catch your child’s frame of mind and lose inhibitions around yourself. Here is a list of some indoor games that you can play with your child . The best part is that these activities are educational and challenging.

1. Hand animals

You need to turn off all the lights of your room except one and then play puppets wherein you can create animals of different shapes. You can use either or both the hands and make some good animal sounds. This will help your child in remembering names of different animals and sounds associated with them.

2. Poem dance

Search your child’s favourite poem. Then read it thoroughly and create various sounds, images, movements and actions that can go with the poem. Keep a room for your child’s creativity as well and make him actively participate. At last read it and perform.

3. Treasure hunt

You can organise a hunt in your home. Write down different clues and make sure that these clues are challenging but not unattainable. Select lots of things that can direct them around the home and place clues by the things that you have selected. Finally keep a special present waiting for your child.

4. Creating a story book

You do not have to always make your child read stories from books, but instead help them in creating stories on their own. Grab a book and select characters and various pictures that will help in creating a plot and leave them on their own. Once they get finished with this process tell them to read it.

5. Mouse

Dice has always been used by kids to play various games. For playing this game you require paper, pencil and a dice. Explain them the various rules like; no.1=whiskers, no. 2= nose, no. 3= ears, no.4=body, no.5=eyes, no.6= tail. Then tell them to roll the dice and direct them to draw that part of body on paper. Continue it till your kid draws whole mouse.

6. Dressing up

Children like to wear dresses and most of the time you can find them wearing your shoes. Get old clothes like hats, trousers, jewelry, makeup, shoes etc and tell them to act differently in various dresses.

7. Designing a flag

Teaching your child a bit of geography and at the same time having fun. Check out various countries, where they are and what is the shape and colour of their flags. Then guide them to make different flags and make them design a flag for their made-up country. This will help them in thinking and creating innovative things.

8. Memory game

Collect some objects and keep them on a tray. Give your kid some time to have a look at this pattern. Afterwards cover the tray with a cloth and ask them to recapitulate or create a list of whatever they remember. It is the best activity for improving your kid’s memory.

9. Feely box

Select some items around your home that your kid is aware of. Keep them in a pillow or a cloth bag and tie its end with a band. Afterwards let your kid feel the bag from external side till they guess what item is within. You can simply put yourself on test by letting your kid choose some items.

10. Talent show

Support your kid to make a talent show for you by providing them numerous ideas like magical act, making music and dancing. Set up a stage for them in some room and put on the show.
