H5 Virus: Romania needs confirmation

World Organization for Animal Health and Romanian officials has blocked off a H5 virus, which could possibly be the strain of H5N1 virus, causing bird flu. The virus has been sent for lab tests at laboratory in Weighbridge.
However, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm doesn’t feel that being an H5 virus doesn’t confirm the characteristics of the H5N1 virus. On one hand, there is an apprehension of bird flu virus swapping over human virus, making it more vulnerable, and on the other, Romanians are at a lesser risk with the hope that the virus is restricted to the poultry sector and hasn’t spread to a vast species of birds, which would have made mass culling of birds inevitable.
