Foetal Associations: Breast Cancer Lurks When in Womb

Left-handed women in their pre-menopausal stage might be running to their gynaecologist, but they needn’t sit with their fingers crossed even if they are getting themselves tested for symptoms of breast cancer. Researchers link pre-menopausal stage to the foetal stage, where the foetus was exposed to high levels of sex hormones, leading to left handedness as well as changes in breast tissue. However, the British Medical Journal bases its online report on today’s findings, where out of 12,178 already involved in screening for breast cancer only 165 lefties showed increased risk of breast cancer, except for those who are obese.
