The Daily Show with Jon Stewart sizzled on Tuesday night when Dr. Steven Chu, U.S. Secretary of Energy walked in to discuss cap-and-trade, Waxman-Markey and the future of energy policy in the U.S. The most talked about topic during the entire conversation was Global Warming Denier crowd and the right-wing nutosphere contingent in the House and Senate.
Chu, a Noble Prize winning scientist mentioned that he strongly believes the cap-and-trade bill is a great opportunity for America to show the way to a new industrial revolution. He with great enthusiasm shared his thoughts regarding Waxman-Markey, a mammoth bill that would tackle climate change. The star physicist proved that there is, in fact, some life in the Obama cabinet. He presented the comedian host of the show with a t-shirt, declaring him a member of the ‘Nerds of America Society‘.
