Rebels seize gorilla park in Congo, slaughter many

So far it were humans facing the heat of the illegitimate war forced on them by war mongers in Congo, it is now turn for innocent animals to suffer from the same, as guerillas capture gorilla territories. Is it the beginning of a war against the animal kingdom too?

Rebels in war-hit Congo ransacked the Virunga National Park, inhabited by rare mountain gorillas, slaughtering many while taking control of it, threatening all those left in and around the area. Mountain gorilla being a rare species is considered endangered especially because the guerillas have a history of plunder and slaughter of innocents.

Ever since the Congo war began, ethnic cleansing, mass murders, human slaughter, rape, brutal killings, molestation have ruled here. Thousands have deserted their homes, lakhs killed and an equal number homeless, thanks to the effortlessness on the part of the government and a savage attitude of the rebel forces. And now, in this war of humans between Tutsis and Huttus, animals without any role to play, are being made scapegoats.

Congo wants neighboring Rwanda to rein in Tutsi fighters, while the latter wants the former to control the activities of the Hutu rebels (FDLR). Both being reluctant to lay down arms, there is every possibility of the war intensifying. Laurent Kabila is long dead, yet the war-heritage he left behind continues to devastate Democratic Republic of Congo and slaughter innocent animals and humans.
