What do you do when your old dress shirt is not wearable any more? I think you generally throw them away. Isn’t it? Here’s a great idea, from Inchmark, guiding you to reuse and recycle old dress shirts and make quilt from them. Sewing your own dress shirt not only makes you green but it is also easy and inexpensive.
Brooke, though an amateur sewer, designed the quilt for her son by using her husband’s old shirts. The collar and sleeves wear out much faster and she saved the remaining fabric to make the quilt. She tried to embellish the quilt by including pockets and plackets too. Spare scraps of the shirt fabric were pieced together to make the quilt binding.
To make your quilt last longer take proper care by proper washing, displaying and storing quilts.
