Baby clothes for first six weeks

A little preparation is required for registering or buying the clothes for your small baby. You need to change the clothes of your baby a number of times in a day. And that’s why you are required to hunt for those clothes that are not complicated and can be opened easily when you change baby’s diapers. In short, the clothes should be comfortable and the tags or seams shouldn’t irritate the baby.

The size of the newly born baby is unpredictable. Some babies increase in length very quickly in the first 3 months only while the others are large enough that they don’t need the newborn sizes. And there are the babies that start with the preemie sizes. So, the best thing to do is that you can buy clothes of different sizes and keep the ones that you would use. Return the others that are not needed.

Here is the type of clothing that you will need to buy for your infant:

1. One-piece outfits (5 to 7): Many of these are generally spiffed-up jammies and are very convenient for the babies as they are apt for playing and sleeping. Babies often take frequent naps, so spiffed-jammies are great when it comes to comfort.

2. Shirts (4 to 7): Go for turtlenecks and T-shirts that have snaps around the neck or have enough room in the neck as you can easily make them wear these.

3. Leggings or Pull-on Pants: Buy these as they are useful. You are not required to change the entire dress of your child if it gets dirty. There’s just a piece that is needed to be changed. Go for stretchable waistbands as these will easily slide over the belly and diaper of your baby. These will stretch as the baby gains on some weight.

4. Sweater or Jacket (1): Most of the babies do not like the clothes that do not slip over their head easily. So, look for the jackets and sweaters for your baby that has buttons running down in front to keep your baby happy.

5. Pajamas or Sleepers (4 to 7): There are a number of sleep-wears that might look cute and gain your attention, but don’t get carried away by this mere cuteness. Keep in mind that the sleep-wears shouldn’t have complicated snaps as this requires a hell lot of effort to take it on and off.

6. Wearable blankets (2 to 3): To keep your baby warm at the time he is sleeping, these cotton or fleece sacks easily zip over the baby’s sleep-wear. There are traditional blankets too but those are not safe as the child may fall prone to SIDS. Hence, wearable blankets are in and have chalked out the traditional ones. The usage of the blankets depends in the season that your child is born in and the climate that dominates the city where you live.

7. Socks and Booties: To keep the baby’s feet warm and safe, you will need to purchase a number of pairs of socks and a few booties.

8. Hats (1 to 3): Remember that if your baby is born in summer, you are required to buy a few hats having a broad brim. The hat should be soft as the skin of the baby is very gentle. In case the baby is born during the winters, look for hats that are warm enough and cover the ears of the baby.

Tips for dressing your newborn

1. Avoid the dresses that wrap around the neck or have ties. The buttons and ribbons should be checked as if they are loose; the child may take the same in his mouth.

2. The clothes should fit well on the baby and shouldn’t hang around. The T-shirts should slip over the neck easily.

3. Keep talking to the baby while changing the clothes. It’s a tedious job to change the clothes, to make this job simpler, make the babies wear the clothes on the floor.
