1) Driftwood Egg Treehouse
Created for Nescafe commercial on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, this amazing treehouse is designed by Takashi Kobayashi. Inspired by the bird’s nest, the oval shaped house sits on area of 12 feet high and 9 feet in diameter and ascends by a circular staircase. Made using driftwood sourced from the region, the price of the house starts for $38,000.
2) Treehouse in Alnwick Garden
The treehouse in Alnwick Garden claims to be the largest tree house of the world. Made from all wood, the house in Northumberland County, UK stands on an area of about 6,000 square feet. The house comprises of walkways, cottages, shops, a restaurant and play areas and is capable of holding up to 1000 people.
3) Free Spirit Treehouse
Whenever the word “treehouse” comes into the picture, Free Spirit comes immediately into flash. Designed by Canadian Tom Chudleigh, the treehouse is one of the best designs I have ever come across. It appears like a small cabin floating from the branches of the tree. Handmade from local wood, they are brought into use for photography, canopy research or wildlife watching. They are also available for rent and the price starts at around $45,000.
4) Minister’ Treehouse
Claiming to be the world’s tallest treehouse, Minister’ Treehouse is designed by Burgess. The 100-foot structure is made using tons of reclaimed wood. Covering an area of 8000 to 10,000 square feet, the house features interiors which flaunts spiral staircases, a sanctuary, a choir loft, a basketball court and a number of rooms, walkways and balconies. The belfry tower is also worth praising.
5) Baumraum Treehouse
Designed by German designed Baumraum, the treehouse is the modern design that is sure to appeal each one of us. Situated between the thick foliage of the forest, this house comes with all the comfort of your modern homes. Trust me, dwelling can never be so comfortable and close to nature.
6) 4 Treehouse
How can one forget the famous 4 treehouse designed by Lukasz Kos. Built on Lake Muskoka, Ontarion, Canada, this treehouse brings out the spectacular views of the forest from every angle. The house is designed around the base of four existing trees, taking care of the environment by affecting the minimum trees. In order to balance the house, the swing was suspended from four trees. The three-storied dwelling is designed beautifully among the forest, and the tube-like structure gives the pathway to ascend the house.
7) Beach Rock Treehouse
Situated in the forest of Okinawa, Japan, the Beach Rock Treehouse was designed by Japanese builder Kobayahsi Takashi. The plexiglass dome-shaped construction is designed high in the forest making communication with the outer world pretty expressive.
8) Driftwood Inn Treehouse
Designed by Nelson, the Driftwood Inn Treehouse is built in a ravine near a remote channel of Puget Sound. Taking you close to nature, this treehouse features well-furnished interiors, with the stunning exteriors.
9) East Hampton Tree House
Designed by David Stiles, the East Hampton Tree House is built on trees which have nearly crossed their hundreds. Designed for his granddaughters, the house is designed in such a way that it not only looks awesome, but also does not overburdens the trees, thus taking full care of the nature.
10) Treehouse in Beaminster
Designed by Western Design Architects, the treehouse in Beaminster sits within a protected area of oak trees. Covering an area of 360 square meters, the house is made up of three green pods. The house features a kitchen, lounge and dining area and some lavish bedrooms. The modern and contemporary dwelling starts for £800,000.
11) Wild Side Treehouse
Designed by Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architects, the Wild Side treehouse is powered by solar energy and that is what makes it different from the others. Thanks to the 1.4KW eight-module photovoltaic solar array that gives energy to the treehouse, and the two dry composting toilets and three dome skylights provides natural illumination. The treehouse is pretty much wheelchair accessible and also offers place for kids to enjoy.

Perched in Seattle, the Secret Garden Treehouse apt to its name is designed for those who love to be close to nature without being disturbed. The design was made by young music industry star who wanted a quiet retreat.
