Working moms rarely have the time to prepare something elaborate for their kids in the morning. Ignoring breakfast altogether is also not a good idea, as it can deprive the kids of essential nutrition. In this case, easy grab-and-go breakfast recipes come to her rescue. Procedure

  • Blend together sliced bananas, milk, sugar, ice and vanilla extract to make a smooth mixture.
  • Sprinkle nutmeg powder over it.

2. Extreme granola

Granola is a great food for breakfast. You can have it with milk, ice cream, pancakes or smoothie. They taste great and provide you unlimited energy.

Ingredients

3/4 cup of pecans, 1/2 cup of almonds, 4 cups of rolled oats (old-fashioned), 1/4 cup of sesame seeds (optional), 8 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1/3 cup maple syrup, cane syrup or honey ( kept at room temperature, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup of dates (chopped), 1/4 cup blueberries (dried) or raisins

Procedure

  • Preheat your oven at 375 degree Fahrenheit and line the baking sheet with a foil.
  • Spread pecans and almonds on the baking sheet and roast them in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Chop these nuts after they cool.
  • Melt butter in a bowl and add maple syrup and salt to it. Mix properly.
  • Reduce the temperature of the oven to 300 degree Fahrenheit. Put oats and sesame seeds on the baking sheet. Pour the butter mixture on the top.
  • Stir together the oats, sesame seeds and the butter mixture properly. Spread it evenly in the oven on the baking sheet.
  • Bake it for 30 minutes, stirring once in between after 15 minutes. The oats will turn light brown in color.
  • Let this mixture cool. Add nuts, raisins and dates to it.
  • Store it in a glass jar.

Ingredients

2 cups of frozen berries or other fruits, 1/2 cup of orange juice ( or 2 tablespoon of orange juice concentrate), 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1 frozen banana, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/2 cup water

Procedure

  • Put all these ingredients in a blender. Blend until a sooth mixture is formed.
  • Serve chilled.

4. Corn muffins

Your kids will never resist this yummy breakfast. It has a custard-like texture and creamy flavor that just melts in mouth. It is not sweet and makes perfect food for the breakfast.

Ingredients

11/2 cups of fine white cornmeal, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 3/4 teaspoon sea salt, 21/4 cups of buttermilk, 2 eggs (beaten), 2 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)

Procedure

  • Preheat your oven at 425 degree Fahrenheit with the rack placed in the middle.
  • Mix together cornmeal, baking soda and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs.
  • Pour the egg mixture to the cornmeal mixture. Mix well. To this, add butter and mix properly.
  • Pour the batter into muffin cups and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the muffins are fully baked.
  • Turn these muffins on the rack and serve warm.

5. Pita omelet

Pita omelet is fast to prepare and very tasty to eat. Your kids are sure to have them happily in the morning.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of chopped onions, 1/4 cup of chopped red bell pepper, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon of oil, salt, pepper, 2 tablespoon of crumbled feta cheese, 2 tablespoon of hummus, 1 pita (cut in half)

Procedure

  • Mix the eggs with salt and pepper.
  • In a pan, add oil and saute the onions for 5 minutes.
  • Add bell pepper to it and cook for 2 or 3 minutes.
  • Add eggs to it and stir for 5 minutes. Cook it properly.
  • Garnish it with cheese.
  • Spread hummus on pita and fill it with the prepared eggs.
  • Serve warm.
