Designed by Hongtao Zhou, Burniture has been made of wax, but it seems that the chairs have been made of ice. According to me it is a metaphor to remind us of nature that is at war, everyday burning and melting and paying price for our activities. It is such a strong reminder for us to mend our ways. On a lighter note, these chairs will be a good and a big replacement for your tiny candles, as made of wax and with the presence of wicks, these chairs look and do exactly like candles. In addition, I really don’t think it will be a good idea to keep them in the living room, these are just not cut out for sitting, either keep them in the display window, burn them to death slowly or burn them completely on a bonfire night. As, in the end, these chairs are made to burn, melt and collapse.
