This powerful advertising campaign launched during Christmas by Vitae, the biggest shelter provider of Europe. These posters were placed at the interior of trash bins with an image of a beggar giving impression as if he was searching food in the garbage. The campaign had blanketed Lisbon and reportedly it was a huge success there and continued to run for entire January.
Hout Lust writes that when it was launched, the trash bins were placed in crowded streets. Volunteers and celebrities standing close to these bins and when they spot a person surprised to see the ad they delivered flyers and tell them about Vitae.
Copy of the ad reads, ‘Help. So that anyone will need to do their Christmas dinner here.’ After Christmas it was changed to ‘Help. So that anyone will need to search for food in here.’ The campaign was created by McCann Portugal.
