The big newspaper and publishing companies are not experiencing even a single digit advertising growth. That may be a reason of concern to them but as far as online or internet advertising is concerned US as world online economy is enjoying a bullish run. The latest report by Interactive Advertising Bureau confirms spending on online media grown up by as many as 34%. Pricewatercooperhouse who also did the survey in conjunction with the Bureau predicts the revenue from online advertising could go up by 5% than the second quarter result and could reach $12 billion by this year end.
That more and more big time advertisers are shifting their advertising budget to the Internet is one of the reasons why website owners put up ‘houseful’ board on the home page.
MSN for example if industry analysts are to be believed is charging flat $1 million for a spot on home page.
Let’s hope the trend continues like that.
