Adpunch has mentioned earlier about the recent controversy surrounding Los Angeles Times for its front page ad that seemed like a news article. The NBC ad has raised much flak from the editors and reporters.
Now the news paper is all set to embrace a new controversy with the Sundayâs Calendar entertainment section which will be accompanied by a four-page advertisement for the movie âThe Soloistâ that is laid out like a news section.
Los Angeles Times has a similar history that dates back to 1999 in which the newspaper published a Sunday magazine section about the opening of the Staples Center arena, which drew criticism. The paper later ran a front-page apology, and its media reporter detailed in a 14-page special report how the deal had developed.
