This is an interesting advertisement campaign launched by Pepsodent to promote its whitening toothpaste. The campaign apparently aims at conveying that teeth would start shining so brightly that the tongue would be in desperate need of an eye protector such as glass, welding mask and so on. The advertisement is showing after using the product the tongue was forced to use these eyes protector instruments.
The advertisements have attempted to take a humorous approach to accomplish the idea and despite strong visuals to convey the idea across, it limps in its presentation. Another aspect of the campaign is that it keeps the product benefit to the core of the presentation. The advertisement obviously represents a nice example of exaggeration of the idea; however, repetition of the same idea for four times is a bit stretched. The punch line of the advertisement campaign is, ‘blindingly white’, which is equally impressive. The campaign is created by Loweporta, Chile.
