HarperCollins is testing the web business model with Bruce Johnson’s business book ‘Go it alone.’ The book is online here equipped with contextual advertising. Why Bruce Johnson and not Sidney Sheldon? Because the former one is a renowned name in internet advertising and marketing and his book on outsourcing, entrepreneurship will attract people who are genuinely interested on the domain only and not any casual college pass outs. Each page of the book (unlike Google Earth) is available for indexing.
Go It alone was originally published a year ago as an e-book and hardcover.
HarperCollins wants to search and scan their database on their own (not Google) and for ads on the website partnered with Yahoo.
