Amazon contextual adsense program follows Google route

Dr Prem Digital Healthcare Marketing

Following steps akin its big brothers, Google and Yahoo, Amazon begins beta testing of contextual ads on third party sites. More like Google adsense, Yahoo publisher and MSN it’s believe in simple online advertising earn-through-click technique which seemed so unlucrative even a few year ago. The first phase of beta tests were carried on blogs and Amazon is all ready for ads that are targeted based on the content of a particular page.

If you wish to eb a online publisher and thinking of getting more benefit from this oligopoly, forget it, because Google’s adsense exclusivity requirement wont allow you run other ad programs unless you don’t want to part away. Chris Beasley an Amazon Associate also didnt join the program for Google adsense was more lucrative to him…

On the phone last night it was explained to me that this is more or less an Adsense clone, meaning third party sponsored links, not Amazon links. It is known that Amazon currently get’s sponsored links for their own sites from Google, but apparently they wish to take out the middleman and break out on their own. The fact is that while Amazon has a high gross revenue, they have really thin profit margins, whereas Google and even eBay have much better profit margins.
