I was reading The Power of Want: It Costs by Chris. I want to share some thoughts with him.
We all want the latest. People queue up from the dead of the night to get the first console of xbox 360. Ask them where it would lie two years, no, one year down the line. It’s a scrap then. Do we have any craze for Microsoft XP now after Vista (no I am not comparing XP with Xbox 360).
Simply call it consumerism. They give it to us, we go to it for them. The economic justification of consumerism? LOL. Dissemination of creative glam ideas are not meant for easy feel good watch from your couch after all. It has a purpose. Go for it, get it now. You have advertising waiting for you all the way, even into your washroom. You can not escape them, can you? Advertising is a way of convincing you as a consumer that provides this ism under this milieu.
