
Merrill Lynch has recently raised its online advertisement forecast for the last quarter of the current year and for the full current year. The forecast is revised in the wake of the latest Interactive Advertising Bureau’s report released earlier this week. Moreover, Merrill Lynch has projected that online ad revenue will increase by 30 percent over the fourth quarter of the last year. The revised figure is up from the previous estimate that had projected a rise of 27 percent.
As so far the year is concern, revised estimate of Merrill Lynch estimates that the online ad revenue will increase 30 percent over previous year. Earlier it was estimated at 22.5 percent.
Further, Merrill Lynch is expecting paid search to grow 27 percent and the branded ads to grow 21 percent next year. It has also predicted search is likely to account for 42-43 percent of total online advertising spending next year.
However, Merrill Lynch has reportedly indicated that it may revise its predictions early next year in the wake of growing advertising in social networking sites and online video advertising.
