The ad campaign for ‘Lady in the water’ seemed to have failed in its effort to promote the movie as it is clearly visible in the low turn out for the movie’s opening weekend.
However, Scott G speculates the marketing strategy was well streamlined and did not go haywire in the middle of the campaign like other Hollywood marketing efforts.

The low turn out of public for the movie questioned the effectiveness of the marketing strategy for the movie. However, all sorts of traditional and innovative efforts were undertaken for the promotion of the movie but all seem to be backfired.

Speculating the failure or effectiveness Scott G asserts that the posters and the ads were really likeable and most notably a bit exaggerated primeval element in the posters were attractive. However, nothing seemed to have worked.

Speculations are also on the probability of turning American public to reviews before entering the theater. Whatsoever be the reason, but this reason is quite self contradictory explanation since if the American people decided to turn to reviews this is utterly failure of the ad campaign that fail to invoke human desire.
